SVG and PDF at a glance
What is an SVG file?
SVG describes an image as shapes, paths, and text instead of pixels, so it stays perfectly sharp at any size. It's the standard for logos, icons, and illustrations on the web, and the files are text you can edit. Photos can't be stored efficiently as SVG. It opens in every browser, Figma, Adobe Illustrator, Inkscape, and code editors. Windows Photos and many upload forms can't open it.
What is a PDF file?
PDF is the standard format for sharing documents that should look the same everywhere. It fixes the layout, fonts, and images of every page, which is great for reading and printing but makes editing hard. A PDF can contain real text or only scanned pictures of pages. It opens in every browser, Adobe Acrobat Reader, macOS Preview, Microsoft Edge on Windows, phones, and Google Drive.
Good to know
What changes when you convert SVG to PDF
- Each image becomes one page, in the order you add them. You can drag files to reorder them before converting.
- Photos are embedded as high-quality JPG and graphics with transparency as PNG, so nothing visible is lost.
- The SVG is drawn at high resolution, so its text isn't selectable in the PDF.
- Very large images, around 100 megapixels or more, can exceed what the browser allows, especially on phones.
FAQ
Questions, answered
Is this SVG to PDF converter free?
Yes. It's completely free, with no sign-up, no watermark, and no limit on how many files you convert. It costs Ethical Tube nothing to run, because the conversion happens on your own device rather than on a server.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. The conversion runs inside your browser with pdf-lib and Mozilla's pdf.js, so your files never leave your device. Once the page has loaded, it even works offline.
Can I convert several SVG files at once?
Yes. Add as many images as you like, then combine them into one PDF or make a separate PDF for each. Drag them into the order you want first.
Does it work on iPhone, Android, Mac, and Windows?
Yes. It works in Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari, on computers and phones.
What can open a PDF file?
Every browser, Adobe Acrobat Reader, macOS Preview, Microsoft Edge on Windows, phones, and Google Drive.
Is there a file size limit?
There's no upload limit because nothing is uploaded. The practical limit is your device's memory: everyday files are fine, and most computers handle images up to about 100 megapixels.
